..And it’s about time. We had a sweet shoot all day in the desert yesterday for dawn+Relentless. Many thanks to Tim, Brittany, Colette, Annie, Leland, Pat, MC, Corrigan, Dominique, Richard, Chris, Sue and Amanda. It was a great time and I look forward to sharing the results. Even if we did almost get blown away in a thunderstorm.
This has been my first real chance to check out coverage of our event last week and I’m really psyched to see for the first time, a legit, impassioned argument about comp climbing over at ClimbingNarc. Some people get it, some don’t. Some love it, some hate it. Whatever. I’m just happy that media are taking the time to pay close attention to what we do and why. Once there is an informed discussion, the rest is all gravy and it’s good to see.
I’m going to drink some coffee and think about weighing in later today with my own thoughts on what our events mean for climbing and why we’re doing them and what sets them apart from others. Hell, I might even discuss why we broadcast 20sec of the side of a hotel during one of the most exciting portions of the comp (truth is, I have no idea, but I’ll make up something funny and controversial, like we did it to cover up Jason stumbling around drunk while he MC’d)).
…Or maybe we’ll just keep working and let you guys judge the results. After all, it’s your opinion that matters in the end. We’ll see how I feel after some coffee.
